Course Structure

Practical Studies
These are performance or composition studies related to the student's major instrument or voice - Principal Study, Performance Class, Ensemble Class, Choir, Concert Attendance..

Core Subjects
Studies related to theory and the history of music - Harmony and Analysis, Aural and Musicianship, Music History.

Electives
Courses allowing the student to shape their degree to their interests including - Music Management, Music Theatre, Song Writing, Keyboard Skills, Music Technology, Contemporary Music, Australian Music, Pedagogy (teaching), Jazz Studies.


Duration of Course
The program may be undertaken full time in three years or up to six years part time.


Diploma of Music (Performance)
Students who successfully complete the first two years but decide not to do the third year may exit with the Diploma of Music (Performance).
