A message from the President

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students to the Australian International Conservatorium of Music. I am sure that 2012 will be a year of great development and fulfilment for you, and we look forward to assisting you in achieving your goals.

I would also like to welcome all new and returning lecturers. Again I am anticipating a year where our established traditional teaching ethos is mixed with creative and contemporary directions in musical teaching, and I look forward to your contribution as well as supporting you in the achievement of your musical goals.

2012 is the 20th Anniversary year for AICM and I am looking forward to a year of wonderful celebration and development. It will be a year of further course development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, establishing links with industry bodies and educational institutions, and celebrating our achievements with a series of concerts throughout the year.

I look forward to reuniting with past students and friends of AICM, and creating new and lasting associations and friendships that will forge the future of AICM.

Campus Dean's Welcome to AICM

2012 should prove to be both an interesting and exciting time at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music.

We will continue to focus on a number of key areas in 2012, including:

  • Extending the AICM presence at Rozelle/Balmain;
  • Consolidating industry relationships and endorsements;
  • Developing further offerings (undergraduate and postgraduate) and pathways for students;
  • Establishing greater online facilities;
  • Reviewing and maintaining the quality of teaching and learning;
  • Raising the organisational profile domestically and internationally;
  • Planning a range of events and activities to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

We continue to explore and develop new and interesting relationships with other institutions that serve as pathways for exiting students and provide the opportunity for students to share the AICM experience.

I trust 2012 will be a good year for you and that you achieve your personal and professional goals, and I ask for your support and encouragement throughout the year to help us achieve our goals and aspirations to make AICM a truly leading music entity in Australia and overseas.

Mr Ian Brooks
Campus Dean
