Focus area - Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre embraces the three disciplines of voice, drama and dance. It is a dynamic, entertaining and very demanding field of the performing arts. AICM will provide you with the opportunity to build on your knowledge and skills to adapt to the various requirements of genre and style in a diverse range of music theatre professional practice and related areas of music performance. If you see yourself in a musical theatre production, on television, in a movie, or working with a band then musical theatre is for you.

ELECTIVES

Acting
Based on a program of preparation and warm-up techniques, individual focus and integration in an ensemble dynamic, students will experience the power of expression and communication through movement and voice.

Dance & Movement
Through a foundation of dance and movement techniques, students will have a greater awareness and degree of flexibility, expression, confidence, stage presence and physical aesthetics.

Music Theatre
By incorporating singing, acting, dancing and movement skills, students learn to work collaboratively with a group of performers presenting spoken and sung text in a music theatre scene at a performance level, while preserving a non-judgemental attitude in the workplace.
